DocFit Poem

The yoga trainer arrived in 2013,
anticipating a simply smashing fight.
Many were nervous when she arrived
but that was soon turned to delight.
She met new friends, like Mega Man
and the little boy from Animal Crossing.
She met the beautiful cosmic queen
and a Yankee well-known for boxing.
There was a ninja frog,
the Goddess of Light
a swordsman magician
who was ready to fight.
A psychic swordsman,
a blue hedgehog,
the Koopa Prince and Koopalings,
and an unexpected duck and dog.

But the one who caught her attention
much more so than others
was the veteran Dr. Mario
returning from the second Smash Brothers.
He was health-obsessed, more so than the rest.
She wanted to know him some more.
So on the third of the month of October,
she went and knocked on his door.

“Please come-a on in,” he said with a grin.
She went in and looked all around.
His room was sterile and clean,
not a speck of dirt on the ground.
“Take a seat, take a load off your feet.”
Miss Fit grabbed herself a chair.
“Dr. Mario,” the yoga trainer said,
“May you please share
a bit about yourself? I would love to know
how you became a Super Smash Bro.
And what are you interests, the things that you like?
And what were you like when you were a tyke?”
Dr. Mario chuckled and said,
“Well, Miss Fit, I simply must say,
you seem quiet friendly towards me
and your intrigue has made my day.
So I’ll tell you about myself,
I hope you’ll do the same.”
And so for hours they discussed
how they got to be in the game.
They talked about their childhoods
and their personal interests.
He talked about medicine and drugs
and she talked about physical fitness.
Their conversation went on for half an hour,
and was worth every second.
They continued to talk
until the fighting room beckoned.
“Time for another fight,”
WiiFit Trainer sadly said,
“I would honestly before
to continue to talk instead.”
“Don’t worry,” said Doc,
“We can resume talking in a while.”
And so WiiFit Trainer left the room
with an ear-to-ear smile.
