Description

In the Fire Emblem OVA, there's a scene where Marth's father, King Cornelius, hits him across the face for not taking the life of a deer during hunting. This is never mentioned in the games, so it's likely that it is entirely non-canon. I could imagine poor Marth having daddy-troubles and would thus want to be a better father to his son than his father was to him.
So for my second picture this Father's Day, I decided to draw Marth telling his son, Mars, that he will always be a protective and loving father to Mars. I'm not entirely certain if this is corny beyond belief or genuinely heartwarming. Or maybe it's a mix of both, I dunno.

The << >> around the text is to signify that it's translated from Japanese. I didn't think the speech would have as much impact on the audience if they couldn't understand it.

Do you know how butthurt I got from watching that scene...I mean..it really upset me..the FE OVA in general really upset me considering how bad it was..but just that scene alone.

Marth was to soft for his father..I mean his father isn't a bad person..but proud Kings tend to not enjoy it when their sons who are supposed to lead the kingdom after them aren't hardened..this was a classic example of that.

So I feel Marth with his own son wouldn't react the same as his father did due to he knows how painful it is to be rejected simply for being himself. Plus he's already a very king heart and sweet individual..he'd take extra protection and care of his darling child no matter what.

I am drawing a Father's Day image as well *I'm just taking forever...* involving Marth to.
